Aviva Investors launches tokenized share class of $29B Sterling fund on XRP LedgerAviva Investors has launched a tokenized share class of its £22 billion ($29.4 billion) Sterling Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger, marking its second tokenized fund after expanding its USD Liquidity Fund to XRPL in July. The move is part of a broader collaboration with Ripple to bring more tokenized funds to the network, and Aviva said it now ranks among Europe’s largest providers of tokenized money market funds, with about £86 million invested across its two tokenized offerings. Aviva also made a £50 million investment in the new Sterling fund share class.

Keystone says website breach exposed hardware wallet buyers’ addressesKeystone has disclosed a website breach in which an unauthorized third party accessed customers’ shipping information—including names, contact details, addresses, and order data—prompting warnings that leaked details could enable targeted phishing, scams, and physical “wrench attacks” against crypto holders. The hardware wallet maker said it blocked access, fixed the vulnerability, opened an investigation, and is notifying affected customers, but it has not disclosed how many people were impacted. The incident has also raised questions about Keystone’s data-retention practices, since some customers reported breach notices despite purchases made more than two years ago, after the company said it had reduced retention to 180 days.

ECB official sees digital euro as key to protecting EU ‘sovereignty’ECB Executive Board member Piero Cipollone said the digital euro is on track for real-transaction testing in 2027 and possible rollout as early as 2029, pending legislation this year. He argued that a digital euro would strengthen EU “sovereignty” over payments infrastructure currently dependent on non-European third parties—noting that two-thirds of euro-area card transactions are governed by non-European companies—while stressing that sovereignty does not mean shutting third parties out. The ECB’s Governing Council can formally decide on issuance only after Brussels concludes legislative negotiations, which Cipollone hopes will happen by the end of the year.

BTC price risks $80K loss into FOMC, earnings: Three things to know in Bitcoin this weekBitcoin is fighting to hold $80,000 support ahead of a heavy US macro week, with the FOMC rate decision on Wednesday and PCE inflation data plus Q3 GDP on Thursday. Markets overwhelmingly expect rates to stay at 3.75–4%, while major tech earnings from Microsoft, Alphabet, Amazon, and Intel add to the risk backdrop. BTC is on track to end October down about 4%, bucking its usual “Uptober” trend, after nearly $150 million in long liquidations over the weekend as price fell to $79,145. Analysts remain cautious on a rebound, pointing to weak support, AI-sector nerves, and resistance around $87,000 as factors that could keep Bitcoin under pressure through year-end.
