StarkWare tests quantum-resistant Bitcoin transaction on mainnet

StarkWare and researcher Avihu Levy successfully tested the first quantum-resistant Bitcoin transaction on mainnet, spending a small output using the Quantum Safe Bitcoin (QSB) scheme without requiring a protocol fork. While the transaction proved that such protection is possible under existing rules, it was costly ($150–$200), required hours of computation, and had to be submitted directly to a miner due to its nonstandard status. Taurus links digital asset platforms to Swift’s blockchain ledger

Taurus has integrated its tokenization and custody platforms with Swift’s blockchain-based ledger, allowing clients to connect their digital asset infrastructure for payments using bank-issued tokenized deposits. The first client integrations are expected within days, with initial DLT transactions through its platforms following within weeks. This move builds on Swift’s ledger, which recently supported live cross-border transactions between Standard Chartered and HSBC, serving as an orchestration layer for round-the-clock payments that settle through existing systems.

Bitcoin ETF inflows slow to $232M as BTC holds under $80K

US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw inflows slow to $232.1 million on Wednesday, a 26% drop from Tuesday’s $314.4 million and the smallest daily total since Aug. 18. Despite the slowdown, the eight-day streak has attracted $2.8 billion, trimming year-to-date net outflows to $2.03 billion. Bitcoin stalled after briefly topping $80,000 on Tuesday, trading near $78,759 at press time.

Altcoin funds fared better: Ether ETFs posted $192.4 million in inflows for an eighth straight day, while XRP ETFs drew $28.1 million—their largest daily intake since Jan. 5. Meanwhile, the Crypto Fear & Greed Index climbed to 71 from 65, staying in “Greed” territory as market sentiment strengthened.
