🕹️🔎 State of Blockchain Gaming in Q1 2025

The first quarter of 2025 kicked off with a complex macroeconomic backdrop, as ongoing trade wars and rising geopolitical tensions added new pressure on global markets. The Web3 industry hasn't been immune—token prices have been particularly volatile, and investor sentiment remains cautious.

In Q1 2025, the Web3 industry experienced a slight cooldown, with daily Unique Active Wallets (dUAW) reaching 24.6 million—a modest 3% decrease compared to the previous quarter. This dip was also reflected in the blockchain gaming sector, where activity dropped by 6% quarter-over-quarter, settling at 5.8 million dUAW.

💰 Top gaming NFTs still sell for more than $5,000

Despite the negative market trends and the ongoing trade wars, investors and gamers are still keen to spend thousands of dollars of digital assets. In the past 7 days, we tracked 7 NFTs selling for more than $5,000 each, with an Axie selling for $7,680, or 5.25 WETH. The top 1,000 NFTs sold during the same time frame, exchanged hands for the equivalent of $2,470. This emphasizes the value that's in these gaming NFTs.

🌻 Sunflower Land revived thanks to Ronin Network

Ever since the farming game Sunflower Land migrated to Ronin Network, activity on the gaming dapp has been on the rise. The native SFL token responded with a 4x value increase, while the number of active wallets grew from 7,300 per day in January to 27,900 active wallets yesterday.

🎣 Fishing Frenzy reopens with ~5,000 active wallets

Fishing game Fishing Frenzy: Uncharted Waters has opened up its game once more, and managed to attract 4,950 active wallets on the first day. That's in line with numbers seen in March during the first play tests for the game. Fishing Frenzy is a rather popular GameFi game on Ronin Network. Gamers can play the game on desktop or mobile devices, through their browser.
