SEC Opens Path to 24-Hour Tokenized Stocks as Intel Targets $200

The SEC took a major step toward bringing U.S. equities on-chain this week, introducing a five-year regulatory pathway that could allow tokenized stocks to trade on public blockchains around the clock. The framework requires tokens to represent actual share ownership and preserve traditional shareholder rights.

Intel also drew attention after Melius Research reiterated a $165 two-year price target, with analyst Ben Reitzes arguing that shares could potentially reach $200 if the company’s foundry and CPU businesses deliver as expected.

Meanwhile, Revolut faced an extortion threat after hackers reportedly obtained sensitive customer information through fraudulent law enforcement requests and demanded $3 million in Monero.

1. SEC opens path to 24-hour tokenized stock trading

The SEC introduced a five-year Innovation Exemption allowing qualifying venues to facilitate trading in tokenized U.S. stocks on public blockchains. Tokenized shares must represent actual ownership and provide voting, dividend and corporate-action rights, while issuers receive 30 days’ notice and can object to having their shares listed.

The framework could move U.S. capital markets closer to round-the-clock blockchain trading while giving regulators time to assess liquidity, price discovery and manipulation risks. Securitize appears closely aligned with the requirements, while platforms such as Coinbase and Robinhood may need to modify their existing tokenized equity models.

2. Melius says Intel could reach $200 within two years

Melius Research reiterated its Buy rating and $165 two-year price target for Intel, while analyst Ben Reitzes said shares could potentially reach $200 over the same period. Intel closed Wednesday at $97.14 after gaining more than 163% since the start of the year, with the $165 target implying nearly 70% upside.

The thesis centers on the potential value of Intel’s foundry and product businesses as AI drives demand for advanced U.S. chip manufacturing. Reitzes also pointed to strategic backing from Nvidia, SoftBank and the U.S. government, while presenting $200 as a possible scenario rather than his formal target.

3. Revolut hackers demand $3 million in Monero

Hackers claiming responsibility for a Revolut data leak demanded 6,000 XMR, worth about $3 million, while threatening to sell the information to criminal groups. Revolut confirmed customer data was disclosed to an unauthorized party but said attackers exploited a legitimate Italian government email domain to submit fraudulent law enforcement requests rather than breaching its systems.

The exposed information reportedly includes identity documents, addresses and transaction histories, potentially affecting around 680 European customers. Revolut said funds, login credentials and core systems remain unaffected, but the incident raises broader security concerns because leaked personal and crypto transaction data could help criminals identify and target cryptocurrency holders.
