The Fed Raised Rates 25 Basis Points |
First hike since 2023, 12-0, taking the range to 3.75%–4.00% on 16 September. Bitcoin spiked to $76,499 within five minutes of the release and handed it back inside half an hour. What matters more than the hike is the projection behind it: one more this year, and 4.1% by the end of 2027. August CPI stuck at 3.4%, with gasoline up 3.9% on the month and oil near $100. |

Synapse (SYN) topped the week at +176.6%. Daily volume went from $17.9M to over $191M. Derive (DRV) added 161.5% and set a record high on September 19, helped by its v3 upgrade plan and new DRV perpetuals. AKEDO (AKE) is up 146.8%, and that's after a 72% flash crash on the same day it hit its all-time high. Hunter Biden's Laptop (LAPTOP) went the other way, down 67.9%, with a new all-time low of $0.0935 on September 20. Its launch-day peak was $199.51. |

What Shaped the Market This Week |
|
|
The CLARITY Act Failed in the Senate |
Cloture fell 49-50 on 15 September, short of the 60 needed. Every Democrat voted no, and so did four Republicans. One of them filed a motion allowing reconsideration, so the bill isn't buried, but nothing happens this year. XRP took the worst of it and was trading at $1.2757 the next morning, down 9.8%. Rulemaking stays with the SEC and CFTC. |

Zcash Is Up More Than 2,300% in a Year |
ZEC pushed past $1,300, up more than 17% in a day, and is now a top ten coin by market cap. Two things behind it: holders voted almost unanimously to cut target block time from 75 seconds to 25, and Grayscale's ZCSH spot ETF passed $500M in assets on 10 September. Worth knowing before you chase it, ZEC trades much thinner than the majors and a lot of this run is leveraged. |

$463 Million Left Bitcoin ETFs Last Week |
The week before, the same funds took in $986.9 million. Then the flow reversed, ending a three week inflow streak, with $283 million going out on 10 September alone. Ethereum ETFs went the other way and added roughly $197 million, a fourth straight positive week. |

The mainnet went live on 16 September. Eleven institutions run validators alongside Circle, among them BlackRock, DTCC, Visa, Mastercard and ICE. Transactions pay their fees in USDC. |
