🔥 Courtyard leads the NFT market to new growth

Momentum in the NFT market kept building in August. Trading volume rose 9%, even as NFT sales count dipped by 4%, showing that while fewer assets traded hands, collectors are paying more per sale.

This makes July and August the strongest months since February 2025 for NFTs, both in volume as in sales count. The signs are clear: people are returning to the NFT space.

Among the NFT collections the biggest surprise came from Courtyard, which became the top NFT collection by trading volume, surpassing even Ethereum's blue-chips. Courtyard's momentum was amplified by its $30 million Series A raise in late July, aimed at scaling its model of bringing real-world collectibles onchain with instant liquidity and verifiable provenance. The rise of Courtyard, along with platforms like Phygitals on Solana, points toward RWAs (Real-World Assets) as the defining NFT trend for late 2025.

📡 DappRadar unveils new metric: New UAW

DappRadar has launched a new, innovative metric called New Unique Active Wallets (New UAW), enabling users to track wallets interacting with a decentralized application (dapp) for the first time. This metric, now available for most dapps listed on DappRadar, offers a clear view of user acquisition and growth trends across supported blockchains.

Virtuals Protocol is one of the rising stars when it comes to the rising number of active wallets, up 128% this week, reaching 16,120 wallets. However, most of the engagements come from entirely new wallets, suggesting a strong influx of new users. Out of the 16,120 wallets, 15,530 were completely new.

That's a strong influx of new users. But, of course it's possible that existing users used new wallets to engage with the app. Despite the number of new users, the incoming volume into the platform dropped 68% to $794,790. This suggests that the new users are still dipping their toes into the platform, and aren't wallet to commit bigger portions of their portfolio.

🔥 Soneium activity rising as transactions double

Sony's Layer-2 network Soneium is ramping up with activity, pushing the number of transactions from 140,000 per day to 272,000 per day in just one week. Among the most active dapps we find DeFi platforms KYO Finance and Uniswap V4. In addition, there's reward and engagement platform Galxe. UntitledBank stands out as a Soneium-native DeFi lending platform.
