📡 Balancer HACKED for $116 Million, while activity on Soneium surges

☠️ Balancer has been exploited, resulting in at least $116 million in outflows. Staked ETH has been stolen from Balancer v2 pools (osETH, wETH and wstETH). Balancer has issued a 20% white hat bounty to the hacker for returning the funds. This is by far the biggest hack that has ever taken place on Balancer, despite making headlines in August 2023, September 2023 and June 2020. (source)

💎 Animoca Brands could make return on the stock market. The company is planning to acquire and merge with Currenc, which would give them a listing on Nasdaq. The Animoca portfolio includes 628 companes in DeFi, AI, gaming, and DeSci. (source)

💰 Zerohash has acquired a crypto license as one of the first MiCA-approved stablecoin infrastructure projects in Europe. This news is welcome for Mastercard, which are planning to acquire Zerohash in a $2 billion deal. (source)

💀 Romania has blacklisted Polymarket for illegal crypto betting. The decision is based on the Romanian elections, where Polymarket's trading volume exceeded $600 million. (source)

🥈 Maibot - a Discord bot that wants to make community games profitable through cNFTs, adding the ability to create, collect and play. Transactions +1,021%.

🥉 Stake DAO - DeFi platform has seen its highest dapp volume in almost a year

➡️ Endur - Liquid staking on Starknet saw its incoming volume get a 431% boost

➡️ SyncSwap - Dapp volume is up 297% to $14.7 million this week, mainly thanks to zkSync Era.

🏆 Limitless climbs to #2 prediction market by volume

Limitless attracted $4.9 million in volume in the past 24 hours, which is an increase of 49%. While Polymarket is still the undisputed champion with $106 million in volume, Limitless manages to keep Overtime, Predictions, Azuro, Truemarkets and Myriad behind them.

Also when it comes to weekly volume, Limitless is in second place with $22 million and a 87% boost. Overtime lost 5% and sits in third place with $11.5 million in volume.

💥 Soneium dapp transactions explode 451%

Sony Group is working, alongside Web3 partners, on their own blockchain dubbed Soneium. In the future this chain may very well incorporate into Sony products, but for now it's the company Web3 endeavour, and very separate from the Japanese company's own technology.

Nonetheless, Soneium is having some positive news lately. In the past 7 days the number of dapp transactions on the network increased by 451% to more than 17.5 million. Interestingly the number of wallet saw a 14% drop during the same period, reaching a total of 222,160 active wallets.

While DeFi platform KYO Finance and video game Zombie Idle Defense are among the most used dapps, these weren't responsible for the incredible surge in transactions. It was RubyScore with 13.25 million transactions that caused the spike. Now integrations from the Soneium ecosystem to RubyScore play a major role in this success.
